Why use a cup?

Menstrual cups are reusable and easy to carry around when you are expecting your period. They can be more expensive to buy but they are better for the planet than disposable products. And you can wear them when you go swimming or to the beach!

Tampons

Tampons are also inserted into the vagina, where they absorb blood rather than collecting it. Some tampons have an applicator, which is a little tube that helps push the tampon high into your vagina (a bit like a rocket booster!). Other tampons have no applicator, so you push them in with your finger. Both types are disposable—you throw them away once they are used (don’t flush them!).
